About Shri Narayana Sarma and the lineage of Sri Somasundara ARC

Sri Somasundara Astrological Research Centre

I founded this organisation in 1975, inspired by the contribution of my uncle Sri C. S. S. Josyulu to the cause of Jyothishya, Muhurta, Vastu and Prasna for over 50 years. Coming from a family of generations of spiritual and religious learning, I felt called to carry forward their work.

Under this organisation I have done freelance consultancy for the past 40+ years for a wide clientele concentrated mainly in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India, and spread across the rest of India, the US and UK.

This organisation represents my vision for future generations — to develop at least one replicable, verifiable method of astrological prediction, particularly in the areas of career and marital matters.

Myself

I worked with the State Bank of India for 30 years. Initiated into the science of Jyotisha during 1970–75 by my uncle, I began astrological consultancy from 1975 onwards. I have studied the extensive classical literature — Dr B. V. Raman's translations, the works of Dr P. S. Sastry, Dr K. N. Rao, and contributions in journals such as the Astrological Magazine.

My primary objective: to develop at least one replicable method of astrological prediction in the areas of career consulting and marital matters.

My Inspiration

Apart from the early initiation by my uncle and guru Sri Chinta Somasundara Josyulu, I am inspired by the writings of Dr P. S. Sastry and Dr K. N. Rao.

In my personal interactions with Dr P. S. Sastry, I observed that he conducted consultancy exactly as prescribed in the Vedic texts ordained for an astrologer. It is a dream for me to follow his modest, service-oriented way of living.

Dr K. N. Rao championed the cause of astrology in international fora. His efforts in developing replicable methods of prediction, and his prolific lectures and writings, remain a model for any serious practitioner.

My First Teacher

My uncle Sri Chinta Somasundara Josyulu initiated me into astrology. He prepared and published Panchanga for over 40 years until 1975, conducted professional astrological consultancy, and enjoyed a wide clientele across the entire state of Andhra Pradesh during his lifetime.

He led a life of austerity and modesty, with deep service to common people. He was one of the founders of the Nagareswara Swamy temple at Manginapoodi beach near Masulipatnam, and procured a building for the Vaidhikadharma Prauadhaka Sangham. He conducted Samaradhana for vedic pundits who attended the vedic sabhas conducted in Masulipatnam for many years.
